VortexDNA Makes Inroads in Global Insurance Sector

Christchurch, NZ September 11, 2008. VortexDNA now has four major US auto insurers as paying clients, as a recent trip to the US resulted in a further three insurers agreeing to proceed with paid trials. Trials are currently underway with two of the insurers with results expected by the end of the year, which will enable VortexDNA to issue commercial licenses to these organizations in the first quarter of 2009.

Discussions are also underway with two major medical insurers in the US and the UK who are considering engaging with VortexDNA to establish the degree to which their ability to predict losses can be improved.

As VortexDNA's penetration into the insurance sector deepens, two important points have emerged:

1. There is ample opportunity for VortexDNA within the insurance sector. Each meeting reveals more ways the VortexDNA algorithm can be applied beyond improving the core underwriting process. Some recent examples have included prediction of renewal, relevant marketing, prediction of fraud, and employee recruitment.

2. There is a significant opportunity for VortexDNA in the BRIC countries (Brazil, Russia, India, and China -- among the world's biggest and fastest growing emerging markets), where there is less credit and other data available for insurers to use. One of the strengths of the VortexDNA algorithm is that is can operate in areas where traditional sources of data are scarce.
