Search Technology Proven

VortexDNA predictive search technology has proven its ability to increase click rates by up to 3 per cent--an increase that, for a company like Google, could translate to additional revenue of more than $300 million per year.

“For the last eight months we’ve been testing our search technology against Google search results using MyWebDNA, a  Firefox extension”, explains VortexDNA director Branton Kenton-Dau.  “I would like to thank all the people who have downloaded the extension from our website. It’s you that have made these astonishing results possible.”

While Google’s own staff recently achieved a 1per cent improvement in click rates, the VortexDNA search technology has demonstrated that users are 14 per cent more likely to click on a Google SearchTM link with a high VortexDNA relevance score than on one with a low score. This translates into an absolute click rate improvement of 3 percent.

“When I saw the size of the results we were getting, the first thing I did was to recommend that we get an independent review of our findings”, says fellow VortexDNA director, Nick Gerritsen.  “Fourteen per cent is huge and I knew no-one would believe us unless we had experts checking our data.”

The company chose Warwick, Rhode Island, statistical and mathematical consulting firm Minimax Consulting LLC for its expert review.  “Basically they gave us a clean bill of health,” says Gerristen.  “It’s then that we decided to release the results.”

With the potential upside of the technology running into hundreds of millions of dollars a year, the VortexDNA team remain committed to creating a better web experience for everyone.
